"The president and a small group of people know exactly what he meant."
Sometimes, these blogs may not make any sense. That's fine, I think. I am even certain that this blog is only fascinating to me and the team. Both Nicola and Caitlin told me so this morning. Caitlin was kinder with her words.
"You won't get any foot traffic on these blogs," Caitlin said.
She would know from her journalism days.
Unlike other business blogs, I did not want VIVA's blog to talk just about our products, or the technology we are developing, or how we address the market concerns about events... those blogs have a place, but not every day. I would rather write about the people behind VIVA. If those stories happen to be about the technology we are developing, then great - the old two birds with one stone.
Some day, Adam or Caitlin may pry the control off my hands ahead of an impending PR disaster, but not today. They can't even if they tried. No one knows the password to this blog, except me... and now also Sam and Nicola.
"In case I am hit by a bus," I added to the end of the text messages.
Both Caitlin and Nicola asked why I was writing these blogs.
Our old blog was a scattering of posts with all sorts of different purposes. There were about 10 of us contributing to it, all of us with a slightly different agenda and vision. It led to all of us feeling a little reserved and cautious about our contributions. I certainly felt that the quality of my blog posts were not on par with Will's or Charlotte's... so I wrote less, and kept more to myself. It felt like a chorus of voices singing from different sheets, and gradually growing softer as we became self-aware and then self-conscious.
This blog is for a small group of people, and the few who may want to know the stories of the team behind VIVA.
